Owning Manhattan
If you are the owner you look for ways to make your business run without you. That’s what I did for over ten years. When I got stressed, I thought it wasn’t worthy.
I just finished watching Owning Manhattan by Ryan Serhant. There’s a lot of entrepreneurs that do the same thing. They are the CEO’s however they may not be thinking as the owner.
What Ryan Serhant did in 4 years, many wouldn’t be able to do in 10… He travelled from Colorado to NYC… He started small, worked hard, and in just 4 years he revolutionized the real estate industry/media. He deserves credit for his astounding achievements!
If you are a CEO you look for performance. If you are the owner you look for ways to make your business run without you. Thats what I did for over ten years. When I got stressed, I thought it wasn’t worthy.
If you don’t have time for yourself, what’s the reason you own something.
It takes a lot to be a CEO, next level is to be the Owner.
We live in one of Brazil’s most famous beaches, where I’ve written most of my Notes From the Coast. Next Wednesday, Jordan Belfort will be in town, there’s currently a Armani building being built here… the Senna Tower, there’s a Lamborghini Tower… many more… however, most apartments are empty…
Not that they don’t sell, they sell, the market is hot, price appreciation has being huge… the thing is.
People buy… and they live somewhere else… we guess…they have to run their business… they are in charge… so they pay 30 million reals and they live somewhere else… sometimes the beach house is way better then their regular house… where they live.
They come to the city for 10 days/year… Christmas time… New Year…
There’s no way you will spend 10 days in crowded markets, streets, beach… loud music… millions of people in the city… many hours in traffic…home and the supermarket… back and forth…why would you spend the best days of the year in a crowed place?
We think differently.
What’s the difference between being the CEO of your own business and the Owner? Are people ready to be viewed as Owners and accept the new way of living?
Here’s an updated we sent to our clients last week about our weekly client’s updates. Monthly letters and how to access the platform.

Notes:
Todd Combs has joined JPMorgan Chase… he will be an special advisor for CEO Jamie Dimon…will Berkshire’s top teams leave the company after W. Buffett stepping down as CEO?
Netflix bought WarnerBros… are you willing to pay a higher subscription layer for new movies and series? Will subscribers be ready to pay extra for Netflix? The answer may move the company’s value.
What habit may be killing your ability to live your dreams?
Monthly Letter: Technology companies are media companies.
